Xbox is giving players another chance to try several popular games at no additional cost this weekend through its latest Free Play Days promotion.
From September 10 through September 13, 2026, eligible Xbox Game Pass members can jump into a selection of titles ranging from looter-shooter action and Formula 1 racing to survival strategy and competitive drifting. Xbox is also offering free access opportunities for all Xbox members with select games.
Borderlands 4 Leads the Lineup
One of the biggest attractions is Borderlands 4, which takes players to the planet Kairos for another chaotic loot-filled adventure. Players can choose from four new Vault Hunters, develop their characters through skill trees and take on the planet’s ruthless ruler.
The game is available during Free Play Days for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential members from September 10 through September 13.
F1 25 2026 Season Edition Offers Racing Action
Racing fans can also get behind the wheel with F1 25 2026 Season Edition.
The edition combines F1 25 with the 2026 Season Pack, allowing players to experience the 2025 season while also stepping into a new career featuring the 2026 teams and the next generation of Grand Prix racing.
Build a Colony on Mars
For players looking for something slower-paced, Surviving Mars: Relaunched is also part of the promotion.
The strategy game challenges players to establish and maintain a human settlement on Mars. Managing resources, constructing domes and keeping colonists alive are central to building a successful colony.
The game also includes its updated research system and the Feeding the Future DLC content described in Xbox’s announcement.
CarX Drift Racing Online Adds Multiplayer Fun
CarX Drift Racing Online gives racing fans another option, this time focusing on drifting and multiplayer competition.
Players can customize vehicles, experiment with different builds and compete on community-created tracks. The game features more than 100 cars and online lobbies for racing with friends.
Dustborn Gets a Free Trial
Xbox members can also try Dustborn during the promotion.
Rather than full free access, Dustborn is offering a two-hour trial from September 10 through September 13. The game follows Pax and her crew as they travel across an alternate-history version of America, completing missions, managing relationships and dealing with increasingly difficult challenges.
Madden NFL 27 Is Available to All Xbox Members
Perhaps the biggest addition for football fans is EA Sports Madden NFL 27, which Xbox says is available for all Xbox members to try from September 10 through September 13 without requiring a Game Pass membership.
The latest Madden introduces a Persona Engine designed to give NFL players distinct personalities that influence their motivations and reactions within Franchise mode. The game also features improvements to receiver-versus-defender battles, short-yardage gameplay, defensive coverage and pre-play strategy options.
How to Access the Free Games
Players can find the participating titles through the Free Play Days collection on Xbox consoles or through Xbox.com. Game Pass members need to be signed in with an eligible membership to install the participating titles.
Xbox also notes that players who purchase games during the promotion can continue their progress, including Gamerscore and achievements earned during the event. Discounts and availability can vary by game and region.
