Lakers vs kings The New Orleans Pelicans are expanding their local television coverage for the 2026-27 NBA season, giving fans more opportunities to watch games without a paid cable or streaming subscription.
The team announced that Gray Media and the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network (GCSEN) will televise 80 of the Pelicans’ 82 regular-season games. All four preseason games will also be broadcast on GCSEN.
20 Games Available Free Over the Air
The biggest change for local viewers is the expansion of free over-the-air coverage. For the first time in franchise history, 20 regular-season games will be simulcast on WVUE FOX 8, allowing fans in the New Orleans market to watch those games without a traditional pay-TV subscription.
The 20-game package includes 11 home games and nine road games. Coverage begins with the Pelicans’ regular-season opener against the Indiana Pacers on October 21. Other notable matchups on the free-TV schedule include games against the Los Angeles Lakers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Philadelphia 76ers, Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics and New York Knicks.
Pelicans+ Adds Streaming Access lakers vs kings
Fans who prefer to watch on mobile devices, computers or smart TVs will also have access through Pelicans+, the team’s direct-to-consumer streaming service.
The service provides live streams of locally televised Pelicans games, along with pregame and postgame programming, on-demand game replays and additional team content.
The expanded distribution is part of the Pelicans’ effort to make games more accessible across the Gulf Coast. GCSEN’s broadcast footprint covers markets throughout Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, extending the team’s local reach beyond the New Orleans area.
International Games on Amazon Prime
The Pelicans will also have two international regular-season games broadcast through Amazon Prime.
New Orleans is scheduled to face the San Antonio Spurs in Paris on January 14 and again in Manchester, England, on January 17. Those games are part of the NBA’s expanded regular-season presence in Europe.
Fans outside the Pelicans’ regional broadcast territory can continue to use NBA League Pass for access to games, subject to applicable national and local blackout restrictions.
Familiar Broadcast Team Returns lakers vs kings
The Pelicans’ television coverage will feature the return of play-by-play announcer Joel Meyers and color analyst Antonio Daniels. Meyers is entering his 14th season with the team, while Daniels begins his seventh season in the broadcast booth.
Andrew Lopez will return for his third season as the team’s sideline reporter. Kelly Crull is joining the broadcast operation as the host of the pregame, halftime and postgame studio shows, bringing previous experience with NBA TV, NBA on TNT, ESPN and other major sports networks.

The new broadcast arrangement gives Pelicans supporters several ways to follow the team during the 2026-27 campaign. Most locally televised games will be available through GCSEN, while 20 games will receive additional free over-the-air exposure through FOX 8.
The team will also continue to provide all 82 regular-season games and all four preseason contests on WWL Radio, ensuring fans have an audio option for every game.
With expanded free television coverage, streaming through Pelicans+ and additional national and international distribution, the Pelicans are entering the 2026-27 season with a broader broadcast strategy designed to make the team easier to follow throughout its regional market.
