Polaroid is celebrating Pokemon’s 30th anniversary with a new limited-edition collection that combines instant photography with some of the franchise’s most recognizable characters.
The collection includes redesigned Polaroid cameras, Pokemon-themed instant film and accessories. Rather than creating entirely new camera hardware, Polaroid has given existing models colorful designs inspired by characters and Pokemon imagery.
Among the highlights is the $99.99 Polaroid Go Gen 3, which comes in a bright yellow Pikachu-inspired design as well as a pink-and-blue version inspired by Sylveon. The $139.99 Polaroid Now Gen 3 gets a red-and-white finish modeled after the familiar Poke Ball.
Pokemon Comes to the Film
The collaboration also extends beyond the cameras themselves. Polaroid is introducing special instant film featuring Pokémon designs around the photo frames.
Go Color double packs will cost $24.99 and feature either Pikachu or Sylveon-themed frames. Larger Color i-Type film will cost $22.99, with Pokémon silhouettes incorporated into the design.
Polaroid is even giving the normally disposable protective cards included with new film packs a collectible twist. The cards feature different Pokemon silhouettes, encouraging fans to keep them rather than throw them away.
Accessories Complete the Collection
Fans will also be able to purchase Pokemon-themed accessories for the Polaroid Go Gen 3. The lineup includes a $24.99 Poké Ball-inspired camera case, a $14.99 shoulder strap and a $24.99 photo album.
One of the more distinctive accessories is a Pikachu-themed strap shaped like a lightning bolt, adding another recognizable Pokemon touch to the instant-camera setup.
When Can Fans Buy Them?
Preorders for the collection are scheduled to begin August 25 in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom through Polaroid and Pokemon Center websites.
The products are expected to receive a broader global release on October 5, 2026.
The timing coincides with Pokemon’s 30th-anniversary celebrations, giving longtime fans a chance to combine the nostalgia of the franchise with the retro appeal of instant photography.
