The Steinway Society of Central Florida is set to bring together music lovers, philanthropists, and community leaders for its annual fundraising gala at the Orlando Museum of Art, celebrating the power of music while supporting arts education for children across Central Florida. The event is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 9, and serves as the organization’s premier fundraising initiative of the year.
This year’s celebration, themed “Diva and Dudes Shenanikeys Gala,” will showcase an energetic performance by three acclaimed pianists Carol J. Stein, Julian Bond, and Michael Mastroianni. The evening’s program will feature a diverse selection of music spanning Broadway classics, jazz, film scores, rock favorites, and Disney melodies, offering guests an entertaining blend of musical styles.
In addition to the live performances, attendees will enjoy a buffet dinner, silent auction, and networking opportunities, with proceeds benefiting the Steinway Society’s mission of expanding access to music education. The nonprofit organization provides pianos and tuition-free music lessons to children from underserved communities, helping young musicians develop their artistic talents regardless of financial circumstances.
Founded in 2006, the Steinway Society of Central Florida has distributed hundreds of pianos and continues to provide thousands of music lessons annually through partnerships with local instructors and community programs. Organizers say the initiative has helped many students discover opportunities in music while fostering discipline, creativity, and academic growth.
The 2026 gala will also recognize the contributions of Steinway Society co-founder Gary Grimes, who recently announced his retirement after decades in the piano industry. Although stepping away from day-to-day business operations, Grimes will continue serving as president of the nonprofit, ensuring continuity in its educational mission.
Organizers hope the annual gala will not only raise critical funds but also inspire greater appreciation for music and the arts throughout Central Florida.
