Texans Face Injury Concern Ahead of Bengals Clash

The Houston Texans are monitoring a new injury concern involving star wide receiver nico collins ahead of Sunday’s matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Collins suffered a hamstring issue during Wednesday’s practice and was listed as a limited participant on the team’s first injury report of Week 2. His availability for the game remains uncertain.

Nico Collins Limited in Practice

Collins was a major part of Houston’s offense during the season opener against the Buffalo Bills. He recorded seven receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown in the Texans’ 36-31 loss, making his health an important storyline heading into the Bengals game.

The hamstring issue appeared on the injury report unexpectedly. Collins was able to participate in Wednesday’s practice, but the Texans are having additional tests performed to determine the severity of the injury. Team officials will continue to monitor him during the week before making a final decision on his game status.

Texans Have Several Players on Injury Report

Collins is not the only Houston player being monitored. Linebacker Jake Hummel missed Wednesday’s practice because of a groin issue, while defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was also absent because of a knee problem. The team expects Clowney to return to practice Thursday, according to reporting surrounding the injury report.

The Bengals also have an important player on their injury report. Quarterback Joe Burrow was limited Wednesday because of a back issue, although he has indicated that he expects to play against Houston.

The Texans and Bengals are scheduled to meet Sunday at Reliant Stadium in Houston. With both teams monitoring key players, the remainder of the practice week should provide more information about who will be available when the teams take the field.
